learn Henna Drum

This delicate tangle is pretty complicated but can “grow on you” — especially when you see it as a combination of simpler tangles, including Printemps and Crescent Moon.

shapes to Explore:

  • Wandering beginning line
  • Added spirals (like branches)
  • Aura-ed arc plus “petals” (like blossoms)
  • Alternating S’s (like very thin leaves)

things to Notice:

  • Rounded corners
  • Shape and spacing of “petals”
  • Enhanced with triple-dots or short lines (indicate folds)

for a Gallery:

  • black ink on white Zentangle® tile (3½”x3½”)
  • shaded with graphite, then colored pencil/pens
